Telescope Donations

Stars of Tomorrow Foundation and Lions Clubs International D4-L2 Partner to Inspire Future Astronomers

Los Angeles, California — October 7–8, 2025

The Stars of Tomorrow Foundation, in collaboration with Lions Clubs International District 4-L2, held a two-day community outreach event dedicated to bringing astronomy and education resources to low-income schools across the Los Angeles region.

As part of this initiative, the Foundation donated 12 high-end Celestron telescopes, while the Lions Club contributed 825 school backpacks, benefiting more than 3,000 students from the following schools and community partners:

• Alliance for Relative Caregivers – St. Luke’s of the Mountains Episcopal Church

• Dolores Mission School

• Los Nietos Elementary Schools

• Los Nietos Middle School

• West Whittier Elementary School

• Ramona Elementary School

• Miller Family Health Education Center

Students and teachers received hands-on guidance in operating the telescopes, allowing many to experience the night sky through a lens for the very first time. The collaboration aimed to combine scientific inspiration with community service, encouraging children to dream, explore, and give back.

“When students look through a telescope for the first time, they’re not just seeing stars—they’re exploring the endless possibilities within themselves,” said Alex Wei, founder of the Stars of Tomorrow Foundation. “Together with the Lions Club, we’re showing that science and service can work together to open doors for the next generation.”

The Foundation announced that this telescope donation program will continue in the coming months, expanding to reach more schools and children, ensuring that curiosity and opportunity shine equally for all.
