*stars of tomorrow is a private initiative for development assistance in South Africa. We want to use the potential of the World Cup 2006 in Germany to raise awareness for the problems in South Africa where the World Cup 2010 is held. The idea is to give at least 2010 children in South Africa access to food, shelter, education and medical care and to enable them to take care of themselves. Our initiative wants to activate the values of sport like fair play, team spirit and the feeling of togetherness for the children in South Africa.
Stars of Tomorrow
The sparkling lights of the stars in the sky give us a sense of security. We use the stars to read the future and discern opportunities and developments. We can find new paths, acquire hope, build strength and look forward to the future. Many children in Africa do not have a future these days because their parents suffer from the effects of HIV. Many orphans are left without the security of a family. They are not in a position to take care of themselves today. And they have no prospects to take care of themselves tomorrow.
In 2010, when the Football-World Cup will take place in South Africa, 2010 stars should shine. 2010 children should acquire new courage to face life.
