_Sustainability:
The projects of *stars of tomorrow aim at improving the conditions of life
for people in South Africa in a sustainable way. The projects must have a
long-term and significant effect that includes all areas (environmental,
social). Poor families should be enabled to take care of themselves and to
design their own future.
_Efficiency and Effectiveness:
The projects will be designed efficiently and effectively. Administrative costs
will be as low as possible so that most of the resources can be used for
the projects. Effectiveness extends also to the selection of projects. Our
aim is not short-term help but long-term help with a long-lasting effect.
_Quality:
We set a high value to the quality of help. The quality will be monitored through
surveys which will evaluate the individual acceptance of projects and through
objective criteria which evaluate the professionalism of help.
_Relevance:
The project must be relevant. Since our focus is on orphans and vulnerable
children it is important to help them directly. The overall aim is to support
communities in their efforts to secure the provision of the neediest children
and families.
_Reproducibility:
A transfer of the project to other areas
or countries must be principally possible. Of course one must allow for structural
differences to which new projects can be adapted.
