With the kind support of the Hertha BSC football club, Hertha team captain and German national player Arne Friedrich called on fans at the May 3rd game between Hertha BSC and Karlsruhe SC to donate money via SMS for children in South Africa.
On the 31st game day of the German national football league, *stars of tomorrow sports ambassador Arne Friedrich appealed to football fans at Berlin's Olympic Stadium to donate money via SMS for children in South Africa, under the motto of "Arne kicks AIDS". Everyone with a cell phone was asked to send an SMS with the key word "Arne" to the number 81190. This SMS costs 2.99 euros, of which 2.82 euros go directly to projects run by Stars of Tomorrow e. V. in South Africa. "I've sent my own SMS already," said Friedrich who captains Hertha and also plays on the German national team. "While three euros aren't that much for us in everyday terms, they can really inspire children in South Africa – so please send your SMS too."
